His Excellency, Count Jonathan Nelson of Aquitaine, graduates with a Master of Arts in Performing Arts, from Selinus University of Sciences and Literature, Ragusa, Italy.

MYRTLE BEACH, SC, January 23, 2024 /24-7PressRelease/ — The Rt Hon, Jonathan Nelson, Count of Aquitaine, aged 43, graduated with his Master of Arts degree in Performing Arts in December 2023

The Count, a South Carolina substitute teacher, who keeps a low profile, living the simple life in a small ocean-front condominium in Myrtle Beach, with his Himalayan cat “Rudy”, holds a Bachelor of Arts from Michigan State University, as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Media Studies from Harris University, Miami, FL, with a joint degree from California University, FCE, Irvine, CA, and decided it was not too late to pursue his dream of continuing his education and to follow his passion for the Performing Arts.

Jonathan is a substitute teacher for local school districts and volunteered as an English Second Language Teacher for a non-profit English Language Academy for several years. Hoping to instill a legacy of literacy to those in need.

He began his academic career many years ago pursuing a degree in Psychology from Kent State University.

“At 23 years of age, my life fell apart,” after being diagnosed with a severe and chronic mental illness, now known as Schizo-Affective Disorder. “The diagnosis was devastating, and it took quite a bit away from me. My education suffered, my relationships fell to a shambles, and it robbed me of any hope of finding joy,” he recounts. “It took over 20 years, but I finally finished what I set out to do.”

On December 15, 2023, The Count of Aquitaine graduated from Selinus University of Sciences and Literature, in Ragusa, Italy. Under the supervision of Dr. Prof. Salvatore Fava, the University’s President, he completed his Master’s Thesis and passed his defense with flying colors.

“I am so grateful to the staff at Selinus University, in particular, Dr. Fava, for his tremendous patience and fortitude in creating this wonderful university where great minds can grow and bring value to their fields. I am so proud of Selinus University, and the entire class of the 2023 academic year, who have all worked so hard holding down full-time jobs as well as family obligations while juggling a rigorous curriculum at the same time.”
